Michelle Obama: 'We have a strong marriage, but it's not perfect.'

From USAtoday.com

Llmichelleobama_2 Michelle Obama (shown here in her sleeveless plum dress at last night's presidential address) also talks about settling in easily to the White House, she tells People in a new interview.Llmichellepeople

She and her husband are up early – she rises at 5:30 a.m. – and they exercise in the private gym and have breakfast together nearly every morning. White House chefs cook them “mean waffles and grits,” she says. “We have dinner as a family together every night, and Barack, when he’s not travelling, tucks the girls in,” she tells People.

“We haven’t had that time together for [years], so that explains a lot why we all feel so good in this space.” But, she adds of their 16-year union: “I don’t want anybody to think it’s that easy. It works because we really work at it. ... We have a strong marriage, but it’s not perfect.”

Michelle also gives People the scoop on the First Dog's arrival. The family plans to get their Portuguese Water Dog in April, after a family spring break trip. But they haven't decided on a name. "Oh, the names are really bad," Mrs. O. says with a laugh. "You listen and you go – like, I think, Frank was one of them. Frank! Moose was another one of them. Moose. I said, well, what if the dog isn't a moose? Moose. I'm like, no, come on, let's work with the names a little bit."

The most important thing you can ever do to your wife

This is the most important thing a married man or woman can do.

BE TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY HONEST.

If you can't do this then you shouldn't be married. You shouldn't even talk.

Start today. Start right now. Be totally and completely honest about everything.
